Public Holiday Setup - Adding dates via import feed

This guide has been created for system administrators.

Specific role permissions may be required, including: Global Rota Setup.

Overview:

edays allows for public holiday dates to be assigned and managed using Public Holiday Groups. A Public Holiday Group can then be assigned to a user's calendar. Public Holiday Groups are commonly used to separate public holidays by country or by whether the public holidays affect an entitlement.

This guide provides steps for importing public holiday dates to an existing public holiday group using a third party import feed. If you would prefer to import public holiday using a CSV file please click here to see our guide.

Please note: To use the Public Holiday Import Tool you must have a Country/Region selected in the Public Holiday Group settings. To see our guide to editing Public Holiday Group settings, please click here, or if you have not yet created a Public Holiday Group, please see our guide by clicking here.

*If the country you are looking for is not present in the country listing, an import will not be possible via the public holiday feed.

Step by step guide:

  • Navigate to Admin tools > Admin panel.
  • Go to Global > Calendar event setup.
  • Click on the Import Public Holidays button.
  • Select the Countries and the Years you wish to import into the system.**
  • Click the Search button.
  • Check the list of dates that are generated are what you’d like added to edays.***
  • If satisfied with the produced results, click the Save button.

**If you search for a country that is not assigned to any public holiday group in your system, an option will be made available to assign that country’s public holidays to an existing group or create a new group to house those public holiday dates.

***The results from the public holiday feed are generated from a third-party service. You should review the generated list thoroughly before saving the selected dates.
