Enabling OR Disabling Flex (Buy/ Selling) on a Template Level

Who this guide is for: System administrators – Requires 'System Admin' role

Overview:

This guide explains how to enable or disable Flex Leave (buying and selling holiday entitlement) at the Template level, and how to configure its booking and visibility options.

How Flex Leave Works:
Flex Leave allows users to buy extra holiday or sell unused entitlement. It’s useful for organisations offering flexible leave options and can be tailored per user group by enabling it within their template.

How to Set Up Flex Leave at Template Level:

  1. Go to Admin > Templates > User Templates.
  2. Find the relevant template and click the Edit button on its row.
  3. Navigate to Entitlement Request Types (label may vary depending on your configuration).
  4. Locate the Flex Leave type you want to manage—e.g., Buy Leave or Sell Leave—and click Edit.
  5. Use the toggles or settings to enable or disable the Flex type.
  6. You can now configure:
    • Booking options (e.g., allow full/half day requests)
    • Visibility settings (e.g., restrict to certain users or managers)
  7. When finished, click Save Template at the top of the page.

Additional Information:

  • Flex Leave: Refers to the ability to buy or sell holiday days.
  • Entitlement Request Types: Where specific request categories (like buy/sell) are configured.
  • Requires 'System Admin' role to edit templates.
  • Tip: This may not be enabled, if you don't see the function, please reach out to Support and we can enable it for you.
  • Warning: Changes made at Template level override any Global Flex Leave configuration.
  • Use the search function within the platform to quickly find features or settings.
