Closing an open absence for a User - Admin panel

Overview:
This guide explains how to close an open absence record in the admin panel.


How Closing Absence Records Works:
System admins can manually close open absence records when an employee returns to work or when the absence needs to be finalised. This updates the record status and may trigger relevant notifications.


How to Close an Absence Record:

  1. Navigate to Admin Tools > Admin Panel > Records > Absence records

  2. Use search filters (user, absence type, status, or date) to locate the record

  3. Click Edit on the relevant record

  4. Locate the 'Open Absence' setting and untick the checkbox

  5. Click Save record in the top right corner

  • Key Term: Open Absence - Indicates an ongoing absence that hasn't been finalised

  • Requires 'System Admin' or 'Sickness Records' role

  • Tip: Use the search function to quickly find specific absence records

  • Best Practice: Verify the return date before closing the absence
