This guide is for System Administrators (Requires 'System Admin' role with 'System setup', 'User templates', and/or 'Users' permissions).
Overview:
Manual Day Calculation (MDC) enables precise tracking of partial/full-day absences, particularly useful for zero-hour contracts or flexible working arrangements. It allows specification of working/absent days (and hours for hours-based absences) within an absence period.
How Manual Day Calculation Works:
MDC can be enabled at Global, Template or User levels, permitting users/authorisers to specify exact absent days/hours within booking periods. Requires a 7-day rota pattern for full flexibility.
How to Configure MDC:
1. Global Level Setup:
- Navigate to Admin tools > Admin panel > Global > Global Settings
- Scroll down to the "Absence settings" section
- Enable:
- "Allow manual day calculation by authoriser" (authoriser-only control)
- "Allow manual day calculation by user" (user self-service)
- Click Save
2. Template Level Setup:
- Navigate to Admin tools > Admin panel > Templates
- Edit the relevant template
- Scroll down to the "Absence settings" section
- Enable MDC options as above
- Click Save template
3. User Level Setup:
- Navigate to Admin tools > Users > User overview
- Source and edit the user's record
- Select the User settings tab
- Scroll down to the "Absence settings" section
- Enable MDC options as above
- Click Save user
