Overview
This guide explains how to configure file attachment settings for absence types at the Template level. These settings control whether users can upload, view, or delete attachments (e.g., medical certificates) when submitting absence requests.
How Attachment Settings Work
Attachment settings let you:
- Require documentation (e.g., enforce medical proof for sick leave).
- Restrict file types (e.g., PDFs only).
- Customise email notifications to include attachment links.
Settings applied at the Template level override Global defaults for specific user groups.
How to Set Up Attachment Settings
- Navigate to Admin Tools > Admin Panel.
- Go to Templates > User Templates.
- Locate the Template to update and click the blue Edit button.
- Select the Absence Types tab.
- Click the blue Edit button for the relevant Absence Type.
- Scroll to the Attachment Settings section and configure:
- Allow file attachments: Toggle "Yes" to enable uploads.
- Enforce file attachments: Require attachments for submission (e.g., for sick leave).
- Allow multiple files: Permit more than one attachment per request.
- Include in emails: Send attachment links in notification emails.
- Allowed file types: Select permitted extensions (e.g., PDF, JPG).
- Review Permissions further down the page:
- Can upload/view/delete attachments: Set user access levels.
- Click the blue Save Template button at the top.
