Changing a User from days to hours

Overview: 
Change a single user’s Holiday entitlement to use hours instead of days for booking and reporting.


How Holiday Entitlement Time Unit Works:
Each entitlement pot (e.g. Holiday) can measure balances and bookings in Days or Hours. Setting the Time Unit to Hours at the User level overrides Template and Global settings for that user only.


How to Set Up Holiday Entitlement in Hours (User)

  1. Go to Admin tools > Users.

  2. Find the user and click Edit.

  3. Open the Entitlements tab.

  4. On the Holiday row, click Edit.

  5. In Time Unit, select Hours.

  6. Click Save User at the top of the page.


Additional Information

  • Holiday entitlement pot: The user’s annual leave balance and settings.

  • Time Unit (Hours vs Days): Determines how balances and bookings are recorded for that pot.

  • Requires 'System Admin' role and Users permission.

  • Warning: User-level changes override Template and Global for this user only; validate reports and booking rules after switching units.

  • Best practice: Review related settings (e.g. Hours per Day, proration, carry over) to ensure consistency.

  • Tip: Use the search function within the platform to quickly find features or settings.
